Annual Reports

2008 was an exciting year for AFTD! We awarded the first Drug Discovery grants for FTD, funded two research projects and hosted our first public meeting, in Baltimore in June. AFTD also was a major sponsor of the Sixth International Conference on Frontotemporal Dementias in Rotterdam. While there we hosted a meeting of our peer organizations from other countries, and laid the groundwork for working together to advance our common cause across international borders. Thanks to a wonderful increase in donations the organization expanded signifantly, bringing three new Board members, a new Executive Director and our first Program Director on board.

Revenue for the year ending December 31, 2008 totaled $820,546, the vast majority of which came from individual donations. Expenditures totalled $437,226, 60% of which was spent on basic research and drug discovery research. Management & General and Fundraising expenses amounted to less than 20% of all expenditures.
